Everyone is blogging these days. There isn't a website that doesn't now have a blog section. That said, most non-blog sites with blog components focus on supporting and promoting site content or site commerce, so when I find a brand or a site that actually launches a blog that has more to do with the writer and less about the business, I love it. I also love DANNIJO jewelry. Hopefully, you also read my BlackBook.com piece about the brand. Anyway, this is not about DANNIJO Jewelry per se, it is about one of the founding sister's Danielle Snyder and her strong desire to also pursue another dream...the dream to be a journalist. She recently launched a high-profile interview series on her brand site and I have the honor of being able to share it with you. It will feature the people who inspire her and her sister Jodie...another smart sibling collaboration.
INTERVIEW with Natalie Portman
Monday, February 9th, 2009
I’ve pretty much been obsessed with Ed Bradley since the first time I saw 60 minutes as a young girl, and since then I’ve secretly always dreamed of being a journalist.
That being said, I figured I’d start a small project to get my journalistic fix as a jewelry designer: the DANNIJO Interview Series. Starting February 9, 2009, every Monday, DANNIJO will feature an interview. The people we profile are people the have inspired Jodie and I, and have reached a level of success that is truly remarkable (or are certain to reach extreme success within the very near future).
I’ve selected people from all walks of life and who truly have a distinguished voice and frame of reference—actors, university presidents, magazine founders, acclaimed editors, philanthropists, doctors, designers, entrepreneurs, models and more. Be sure to subscribe to our blog to get the weekly Interview delivered to your inbox (or just be sure to check back every Monday for a new profile).
To kick off the series, I interviewed pal philanthropist/actress Natalie Portman. She is one of the most down-to-earth, genuine people I know, and I have always admired her grace and humility as a world-renowned actress.
She is doing a new interview every week, so I promise to post more from the fabulous Danielle as she has agreed to give me full access to her words and to her vision.
