As promised, every day until the 515 East 72nd Street/Miraval Living event, I will feature one or two brands who are part of the mix...To be fair, I decided to just go alphabetically, so AKA New York draws the first feature.
AKA New York was founded in 2004 by three ELLE fashion editors, Abigale Levinson, Karen Reinitz, and Ana Maria Pimentel. Having spend years telling fabulous women what to wear via the pages of ELLE, they realized that there was a need for clothing that was fashionable yet accessible...being a recessionista myself, I am 100% with them. What they have created is a mix of global boho chic, meets American, girly perfection. They understand how to interpret the trends so that they make sense for their customer. You never feel like AKA is uber trendy, here today-gone tomorrow...instead the highly coveted pieces have a high fashion, timelessness that makes them truly unique. They give a woman what she wants and they understand how to make her feel great in her clothes...never too fussy, but always chic and pulled together. I love the ease!!!
My favorite pieces are of course the embellished tees or should I say the tees that come with their very own built in jewels and the boho dresses and rompers. Their Bead Necklace Tank is just what the doctor ordered for the coming warm weather (though you wouldn't know it today). I would wear it alone (it is that fab) with some of this seasons must--have pants or even for work with all of the amazing, short spring jackets. It is only $225...amazing for such a standout. You know I am romper happy, so of course I love their Tiny Flowers Romper. Again, it will be great for those hot summer days with some strappy flats or all dolled up with power heels and a longer blazer. Again so well priced at $318...versatility, value and gorgeousness all wrapped up in one!!! Finally, I really can't pick one, but their dresses are highly covetable. Stop by 515 East 72nd Street/Miraval Living as I am sure they will have several to wow you with.
As a reminder, it is open to the public on April 3rd from 3-7, April 4th from noon-5 and April 5th from noon-5. 515 E. 72nd Steet, between York and the River. See you there!!!!
