I don't blog about kid's fashion very often. I think I have one mention to date in my 8 months of writing, but once in a while I find something that I love so much, that I just have to share. I happened upon Dante Beatrix as I was searching for brands for a Mommy & Me Pop-Up concept and absolutely fell in love with their backpacks for the little ones. They are made for children ages 2-5 (though they have some for the older kids too) and are so beyond adorable that if you have young children you should click to buy immediately...they make great gifts too!
Dante Beatrix creates whimsical and contemporary accessories for today's oh so fashionable kids and their mothers. On their website, they describe the brand as a combination of "childlike imagination and a grownup sense of modern design and style"...love this! They use eye-catching colorful graphics and characters that kids adore. The backpacks are inspired by the creatures of the Maakun Forest (not sure what the Maakun Forest is, but it sounds magical...and yes I googled it). They are constructed from durable nylon and laminated canvas so they are easy to clean. They also have a padded back panel with name tag and padded shoulder straps, so they are comfortable and practical...I am sure this is a combo moms love.
I can see my stylista-in-the-making niece, wearing the ladybug backpack...she already has ladybug wellies...so damn cute! My 5 year old nephew might find them a bit too "foofoo" as he is into superheroes and the like, not friendly little critters, but the boy's versions are perfect for your little one who has yet to assert his innate male attraction to action figures and monsters. At only $38, you can buy a couple to satisfy the ever-changing desires of your fashion-assertive munchkin, and if she/he doesn't seem to care about a silly little thing called style, well then indulge yourself!
