Since we are just a few days away from the official start of the summer weekends, I want to share the items I think are this year's getaway must haves. Since it doesn't look like true beach weather for Memorial Day, I am going to start with accessories and work towards the weekend with the hopes the weather forecast gets better...today may have well been March, so finding you the perfect bikini isn't exactly on my radar.
If you have been reading my blog, you will know that have been snakeskin obsessed all season, so of course I am fully embracing the snake bracelet trend...part bad girl, part summer chic, these dangerous little numbers will be your favs all summer long. I have found several versions that can suit your ever changing fashion moods. My absolute first choice is from Elizabeth & James. It makes the biggest statement as it coils around your wrist multiple times and is brass with rhinestone eyes...this is definitely for a girl that likes to have some fun ($495). I would wear it with my fab maxi dresses...so Medusa!!! If you want a slightly more toned down version, the Kenneth Jay Lane Snake Coil comes in brushed silver and is oh so subtle ($115)...still sexy as can be, but less in your face. I would love to layer a couple of these to make a bigger statement...with a hot white dress this would be warm weather wow! For all of you die hard modernistas who believe that minimalism is best, this less literal interpretation from Elizabeth & James is architectural simplicity ($250). Wear it with your playsuits (shortsuits) for the perfect edgy touch. Last but not least, for all my fellow rock-n-roll loving readers, this braided leather with silver snakehead number from Urban Outfitters is hip and cool. At $20, but two or three and make a real impact!!!
For the girls who are more into the real deal (that is as far as jewels are concerned) and don't like a more downtown vibe, I found two great choices. The first is from R.J. Graziano ($95). It is gold with small turquoise and coral stones...textured and oh so snake-like, it will add a little edge to your more uptown style. Wear it with your Tory Burch or Calypso tunics and jeans for summer "chicness"!! Last but not least...the one I would love to receive as a gift (hint hint) is from Iosselliani ($432). Their snake bangle set is gorgeous and of course is so verstaile as it is 5 bracelets in one...I covet it because it has a high fashion look, but with just a touch of sex appeal. I of course would wear these babies with everything!!!
