I have always been bracelet happy! I am not a major jewelry girl...no pierced ears (let the holes close up years ago) and have recently blogged about my skinny finger cocktail ring dilemma. I love a great statement necklace (this should be your only statement if this is the route you choose), but at the end of the day, I just can't get enough of fab wrist adornments. I love this season's layering trend...the more the better (within reason). If you are going to really mix things up, then please make sure you have a good eye for a creative melange as the wrong combo can look a bit contrived and yes cheap. If you are confident enough to admit that you don't always get it right, then I have a great simple trick. Buy one or two of the same statement bracelets and wear them all at once...crazy chic!!! Now if you are thinking, yeah right, how can I afford that, I am here to show you how to do bangles on a major budget.
Yes, you know it, the first on my list comes from my low go-to Urban Outfitters. For $28 you get two 1.5" wide, studded, eye catching cuffs...definitely more downtown cool girl, so make sure you know how to rock the look...that said, they also have a feminine feel, so don't be afraid if Central Park is more you speed. UO has so many other options that will do the same trick so click the link above to see all of the fab choices.
Next is a newish discovery, Amrita Singh...I love the bright yellow/mango colors and the Bollywood feel...so right now and oh so fashionable!!! They come in a fab set of 11 silk wrapped, resin-finished and rhinestone encrusted, slim bracelets that together make a wow statement. Again, layer, layer, layer and buy two sets for a total of 22 bracelets for under $100. They are on sale at ChicDowntown.com for $45.
I love anything that feels organic in the summer, so of course wood bangles would be high on my covet list...leave it to Kenneth Jay Lane to give us the perfect version. I love the illusion of texture with the faux honeycomb effect and the soft color gradtions make this beyond versatile. Again, it will look best in multiples, so wear 2 or 3 at a time...only $45 each on Vivre.com. These will mix really well with other wood bracelets as well, so if you want to take a chance, this is the bracelet I would recommned stepping out with.
If modern and architectural is more your vibe, I found another Kenneth Jay Lane stunner at Saks. This bangle combines rmalachite or resin (a long time favorite jewelry material) and color!!! The jade tone is exquisite and the soft, sculpted shape is clean and stylish. I would wear this beauty all by its lonesome as it has enough fire power to really knock socks off, though if you really want to take it up a notch, then it would look great with its slimmer friend...same color and material, but rounder shape (not pictured here).
There are so many amazing options out there today girls, so just have fun and pile them on...you don't have to spend a ton of money to be "banglelicious"!!! Remember, there is nothing worse then when women over-accessorize so if you are going to go with the layered bracelet route, then please don't leave your other statement pieces for another day. You can wear a subtle ring or earrings, but don't overdue the big jewelry trend...you don't want to look like you played dress up in your mother's closet!!!!!!!!
